Create »VAT number and fields on an Irish invoice
VAT-registered businesses typically show supplier name and address, VAT number, a unique invoice number, invoice date, customer name and address, description of goods or services, VAT at 23% when standard-rated (or the correct reduced/zero rate), and the total in EUR. Enter your VAT number under From and adjust Taxes for reduced-rate supplies — do not invent a 0% charge if you are not VAT-registered.
Limited companies often also quote company number and registered office on the PDF. Sole traders use a consistent trading name. Confirm the full Revenue checklist for your supply type before you send the bill.
EUR payment details Irish clients expect
Most Irish B2B clients pay by SEPA credit transfer using your IBAN (and BIC when requested). Put IBAN and account name under bank details or Notes, and ask them to use your invoice number as the remittance reference. Faster Payments-style UK details are less useful for domestic EUR bills unless the client specifically pays from a UK account.
Optional PayPal or card-link lines help overseas clients, but domestic work still prefers EUR bank transfer. State due dates clearly (e.g. 31 March 2026) and Net 14 / Net 30 terms so late-payment chasing has a shared baseline.
Sole traders, limited companies, and service niches
Sole traders often need a simple EUR PDF with personal trading name, address, and optional VAT. Limited companies usually show the company name, registered office, and company number alongside VAT when registered. Open the matching featured layout so labels match how you trade, then edit line items in the browser.
Agencies, trades, consultants, and hospitality businesses share the same editor — what changes is VAT treatment and how you describe deliverables. If you are not VAT-registered, start from the no-VAT layout and verify Revenue rules before you charge VAT.
From Irish estimate or quote to invoice
Many Irish freelancers and agencies send an estimate or quote first, agree scope, then invoice on completion or milestones. Create the proposal under Ireland Estimates or Quotes (same EUR defaults), then convert or copy the agreed lines into an invoice when work starts or finishes.
Keep numbering series separate (EST / QUO / INV) so accountants can tell proposals from tax invoices. If VAT applies only once you invoice, leave tax off the quote and add VAT on the final bill.
Ireland compliance note
This tool creates editable invoice PDFs for client billing and your own records. It is not Revenue Online Service (ROS) software, not an official e-filing product, and not tax or legal advice. Always check current Revenue guidance (or your accountant) for VAT rates, invoice content, and record-keeping rules that apply to you.

Invoice FAQ
Is this Ireland invoice generator free?
Yes. Create and download invoice PDFs for free with no signup required.
Is the PDF an official e-invoice or tax filing?
No. This tool creates editable client PDF drafts. When your market requires structured e-invoicing or a tax portal, use the mandated channel and treat this PDF as a draft or annex.
Can I customize the invoice?
Yes. Edit labels, add your logo, change currency, and adjust line items before downloading the PDF.
What is the standard VAT rate in Ireland?
The standard Irish VAT rate is 23%. Reduced and zero rates may apply — edit the tax line in Taxes to match your supply and confirm current Revenue rules.
What should an Irish VAT invoice include?
Typically supplier details, VAT number if registered, unique invoice number, date, customer details, description, amounts, VAT rate/amount, and total. Confirm the full checklist for your case.
Can I invoice without VAT in Ireland?
Yes. Open the No VAT featured generator if you are not VAT-registered, or remove tax lines before sending.
Should I put IBAN on the PDF?
Yes for most Irish B2B bills — SEPA transfer is the default. Add IBAN (and BIC if asked) plus your invoice number as the payment reference.
Can I create Irish estimates and quotes?
Yes. Use Estimates or Quotes under /ie — EUR defaults — then convert to an invoice when work is agreed.
Is this ROS / Revenue filing?
No. You get an editable PDF for clients. VAT returns stay on Revenue Online Service or your adviser’s software.
What is the difference between an invoice and a quote?
An invoice requests payment; a quote is a formal price proposal before work. Use our free estimate generator or quote generator for proposals, then bill here when approved.
